My journey guiding people on what items to purchase for their DIY party at home. My mission is to help one person at a time to celebrate the important events in their life by creating beautiful memories.

  • Don’t sign a contract before you make sure you really like the services

The contract is really a big deal in the party world, you always want a contract a proposal or a recipe. However, before you sign anything make your list and make sure after all the odds that the person, services, or place are the ONE for you.

A little confusing? let me see if I can make it simple by giving you examples. Well,  one time I had a client that lost her deposit of the location that she wanted her party to take place and decided that she would rather lose the deposit but have the wedding the way she dreamed of.  In this particular case, they did not allow her to have for example a dessert table with outside desserts. She was a Brazilian and very passionate about her culture and love for dessert table.

This is just one example that happens a lot also with “decorators” make sure before signing you see their work, that you like what they have created not something from Pinterest. There is a big difference between the work someone has done and pinning someone else work. Always ask to see their portfolio and not just inspirations.

  • Symmetry is a big thing when creating a Dessert Table

YES if you are planning a dessert table, believe it or not, you need to know about symmetry. You need to understand if you like everything to be perfectly symmetric or not, and if the answer is yes how deep in the rabbit hole are you paranoid with symmetry.

For example, throughout the years, I had clients that every single item and tray had to be identical the same on each side of the table, some not as crazy but pretty close to an identical visual impact.

If you are the type of person that prefers everything symmetric is not a big deal, however, you need to communicate that.  Because is a very important factor, it’s an inevitable detail that can not and be not be forgotten if you want to be happy with the final result.

Imagine if you don’t mention to your decorator that you like symmetry, now you get into the party, after spending X amount of money creating this beautiful dessert table and you get there and can’t get past the fact that the table is not symmetric? Not a happy feeling, right?

So make sure you tell your decorator or as an event planner, make sure to ask your client. I did a live a few weeks ago on my Instagram and I have a few different tables as examples,  so take a look at it, and if you have questions just leave a message.

  • Let’s go live again…

I have been doing live on my IG for almost 2 months now. I am so happy, its all part of the process of overcoming my fears.

The new me fighting the old me, that’s for sure.  If you get the chance to listen and get pass the imature editing and not-so-good microphone you can actually learn a lot.

So, here is a link, and if you get curious or need to learn something important about the party process business let’s go!

  • When do I need a backdrop behind the dessert station?

I get asked this question a lot. What about a backdrop?

Trust me you don’t need a backdrop unless you have to have one, confused? Me too…lol. But it’s true before you start buying items that are not necessary for your dessert station, make sure to analyze everything.

It’s very important for you to have the view to choose the right location for your dessert station.  Look around the room and find a wall that can fit on the decor or can at least don’t compromised the set up.   You may be able to find a spot where the wall is clean and don’t have a lot to it, or a picture frame can be easily removed and you can replace it with something less expensive.

But certainly, if you want a backdrop for your dessert table, of course, you can have it.  Hey, I am all about add glamour and more to the desserts, but as a dessert stylist my job is also to make the best out of the budget, but I am not complaining if you want to add more.

There are many ways to create a backdrop behind the dessert station, you need to make sure the backdrop will fit with the dessert table itself, not trays flowers or props will be covering or interfering with the design behind. Everything needs to flow together in harmony, always.
