My journey guiding people on what items to purchase for their DIY party at home. My mission is to help one person at a time to celebrate the important events in their life by creating beautiful memories.

  • who am I and what is my mission during this uncertain time?

    HOW TO START
Don't even know how to start this blog but I feel I need to share. Share my frustrations, my victories, my journey during the past year blogging.

Last year at this time, I had already been to a lot of personal pain,  a loss, but I had decided I was going to fight back and keep ongoing.

I restarted a project that I  had abandoned and left behind cause I had suffered such a loos that it was very hard for me to recuperate. I lost my mother, my best friend, the person that helped me through all my ups and downs. That hit me so hard cause.  It was not only unexpected, but I also didn’t have the chance to say goodbye. She was overseas and I was not able to travel on time. But God knows what’s best and he certainly has his ways to give us faith and keep us going…

    THE UNEXPECTED

For the priors years, before her passing, my mother always asked me when was I going to give her another grandchild. My answers was always the same; we been trying.  Sure enough what seamed impossible for the past 8 years, but a miracle “believe me”. Somehow, what I thought was the beginning of early menopause due to so much stress, actually had a heart bit. Yes, I was pregnant, in the middle of chaos.

God sent me this little angel to change my life again. To give me hope to remind me that life is beautiful that we all have a purpose.   Consolidate all those feelings was not easy.  Neither keeping myself stable.  One day I would cry so much, the next day I had so much joy. I just kept on going, cause I knew I had too. The pregnancy was not so easy cause I was not that young anymore.  Because I was 40th at the time, I was considered in the group of risk. However,  I did everything I had to by the book. I eat healthily, I exercised  I loved meditating at night.  Dreaming of my mother was the best part of the night lol.  Made me feel in my heart that she was always next to me… I believed it.

    ANOTHER MIRACLE

I believed it so much that God was about to send me another sign of hope to prove it. My due date was December 6, but sure enough.  However,  went into natural labor and gave birth on November 28, 2018 …  my mother’s birthday! So, the year I lost the best women figure in my life.  I gained another beautiful and strong female, my second daughter.

But, that was just the beginning of a whole new chapter that was about to change.  It was about September of 2019 that I was able to reestablish all my goals again. Starting to blog again.  The baby was almost a year old. I was back on my feet mentally and physically and I had so much drive now. I kept my dreams off my head and everything in action.  Everything was going so well. I keep on writing, and posting,  and creating,  and learning, and nobody is reading lol,  but I was so happy. Because  I was working and sharing what I love to do “Designing Dessert Stations”.

    TRAGEDY AGAIN

Life was so good, then in the middle of  February 2020, something unexpected hit again. This time, I was not the only one hurt by it. Little by little every day, the world started to collapse with Covid-19. Everything stopped. We all watched the news, as this epidemic started to spread. We all had to retrieve into our homes. Then, little by little all the phone calls started with every bride and mother were canceling their events. Totally understandable.

As the months kept going, more phone calls I got, more cancelations, and a few rescheduling.  In which by now “August” they were also canceled lol. But the worst is, also so many people began to lose loved ones.  I could feel their pain cause I just had lost my mother. I was worried about my father alone in the city far away. Because some of the restrictions of this new virus, is that we have to keep ourselves away from the elderly cause they can get affected the most.

    GRATITUDE

Not losing anyone close to me to Covid-19 makes me very thankful.  Thankfully for my health. Grateful  for everything that people around us is trying to do to control this situation, the nurses, doctors and scientist. I am thankful to see that communities are coming together and everyone helping each other. But also, got me thinking, what leaves me? How can I help? How can I be productive at times like this?  What can I do?

    THE CONNECTION

Then,  I started connecting all the points, yes I can make a difference too. Of course, I can.  I figure out that part of my mission, is not just to go in and set up a beautiful dessert table.  God gave me a gift, I am very creative, artistic that’s a fact. But when  I am helping a client to design their party. I am actually helping them to make that specific time that they are spending with their families and guests to be memorable and unforgettable, by creating a beautiful scenario where the storytelling takes place.  So why not continuing to help everyone to create those memories at home? More than ever, cause for sure we don’t know what tomorrow holds! We need to continue celebrating now! TODAY! EVERYDAY!

    THE SOLUTION

I already changed all my social media platforms to DIY informative about parties, but not sure if I am doing the right way, every day I learn more about algorithms and all the little tricks involved,  less success I have lol… I never get a real comment, I don’t think people can hear me, but I will not give up with my campaign for people to keep on celebrating, and little by little, one person at a time, I will speak to and help them. If you read this post and you can hear me follow my journey and spread the word WE MUST CELEBRATE!

  • How to Throw a Mother’s Day Celebration at home

Mother’s Day is just around the corner and I can’t believe it took me so long to write this post! With the current pandemic keeping us all locked up in our homes away from other people, it has been very difficult to get anything done. Especially with my daughters at home, a nineteen-year-old back from college who definitely does not want to be home, and a one-year-old who is stuck to me like glue.  No matter, it has been a blessing to have my family with me, and I’m taking advantage of every moment I have with them, home and safe. I’m sure that I’m not the only one who has their children home safe in this quarantine.

I hope that this coming Mother’s Day will be as fulfilling for you as it will be for me. what a year to remember 2020. The other day my oldest asked me if I preferred breakfast in bed or not having to do dishes all day which definitely has me suspicious that she’s got something up her sleeve. I haven’t been able to give her an answer but I think I’m leaning toward breakfast in bed. This inspired me to write up a list of things to do for your mom during this Social Distancing Mother’s Day!

    1. Mom’s day should start with breakfast in bed.

Wake up early and whip up mom’s favorite breakfast, bring it into her room on a nice tray. Make sure to wake her up nicely, gently, and full of love. When she finishes her breakfast you can move on to the second part of this perfect Mother’s Day.

Studio DIY has a perfect blog post and free printables for the breakfast set up. take a look at the link bellow

    2. VIP PASS

This second part is more of all-day projects. Give mom a break from all of the usual shenanigans, get up to make sure the dishes are done, and if you have little siblings watch them for mom. The goal for this Mother’s Day is to spoil the life out of mom, make the day as easy for her as you can.

    3. Stay Home SPA

The next thing that will make for a perfect day is to set up an at-home spa for your mother. Run a nice hot bath with bubbles or a bath bomb, decorate the bathroom with scented candles, create the ultimate at-home spa for your mom.

In the end, the key to a perfect day isn’t in what you do or how you do it, its about making good memories together, having fun and forgetting about the world for a while. The most important thing to remember is to have fun and make the best of the situation at hand. I hope you have an incredibly special Mother’s Day and be safe.

  • Social Distancing is Hurting Us, But it Will Also Bring Us Closer

2020 is going to be remembered as a trying year for everyone. COVID-19 has turned the world upside down, and no one knows how long it will be before we’re back to normal.

    We’re all feeling it.

You can get used not to work, the isolation, but not seeing friends and family is the hardest thing of all. Living in a world where there are no parties, no concerts, no theaters, no cinemas, and no social gatherings of any sort has left many of us with the feel of a missing puzzle piece. Even the introverts among us feel the lack of choice in being alone.

Social Distancing is Vital, But That Doesn’t Make it Easy

I have so many clients that called and either canceled or postponed their parties. So may couples’ wedding days that have been in planning for years have been wiped off the calendar. Yes, it’s necessary, but that doesn’t mean we won’t be feeling and remembering this lack of connection for years to come.

That’s not to touch on all the businesses that only exist to serve and put on events. That’s a whole industry forced to stop. Hundreds of thousands – perhaps even millions – of people without work. Besides me, the venues, there are florists, caterers, hire companies, photographers, musicians, wait staff, and of course, the travel industry that receives honeymooners.

Even when restrictions are eased, there will be many people who will be scared of large gatherings. There will be many worried about the possibility of catching the virus and being instrumental in a resurgence of cases. The future is entirely uncertain, the only thing we know for sure is that we will get through it and that 2020 will go down in history as one that brought the world to a standstill.

The Long Term Effects Aren’t Just Financial

The pandemic caused a shockwave that will be felt in the economy for years to come, but the effect may be similar for our state of mind. Isolation is not easy to deal with. Constant stress and anxiety leave its mark. We are fearful of what the future may bring, whether there will be jobs to go back to, or how we’ll pay for necessities if this goes on for long. It is all too easy to feel trapped, especially if you live on your own. Many of us are in isolation with our family, but there are millions of people, especially elderly, who are bearing this alone.

However, the Effects Won’t All Be Negative

There is a light at the end of the tunnel, and good things are coming out of this enforced isolation. We might not be able to gather in one place, but communities are pulling together and caring for one another in ways we’ve never seen. We’re spending time talking to our loved ones in distant places more than we ever have before. Suddenly, all those days that passed when you forgot to give your brother, aunt, or college friend a call, are being made up for.

As a global society, we’re finally giving the essential workers the recognition they deserve. It is all too easy to ignore all these unsung heroes who make our society function when times are good. They are always there doing their vital work but are rarely ever thanked. Many of these men and women also work for low pay, and many have seen raises and benefits they otherwise would not have received.

If, when the crisis is over, society can remember the hard work and sacrifice these key workers have endured, it will be a serious positive to have come out of the pandemic.

Social distancing also provides a rare opportunity to reassess our lives. Normally the pace of the 21st century doesn’t allow much time to slow down, and many are realizing that they have passions they have buried for decades. If even a handful of people follow their passions and turn to careers they love after this, that will be an incredible thing.

Hopefully, many of these new habits, such as calling those we love, thanking our delivery drivers and grocery store workers, and taking a walk for pleasure, will stick.

    What Does the Future Hold?

COVID-19 will change us. People may be slow to return to the carefree ways of the pre-pandemic world, but gradually we’ll get back together to work and play.

Things will get better and soon. We will have a far greater appreciation for social events and life events. We’ll appreciate every moment we spend celebrating birthdays, weddings and graduations. We’ll celebrate merely being able to spend time with one another. Hell, we’ll even be happy to be back at work!

It has been a wakeup call, and we’ll be faster to react, should something like this rear it’s head in the future. We will be a better, more caring society, aware of others and just a little less selfish than perhaps we had become before the coronavirus pandemic hit.

Part of being human is to celebrate life together, to join with others at parties, festivals, bars and restaurants. The coronavirus has made us realize just how vital getting together is for our mental wellbeing. I am confident it won’t be too long before we can all be together again, laughing, dancing, and sharing a meal as we did so casually before.

Together we are stronger, and we will keep on celebrate even at home!!!

  • Let’s get this Party started

The first day of the year is a  very important day for me, with lots of mixed feelings, but definitely a day for changes.  This is more than ever, last year we barely knew what was waiting for us, but this year … well I have a goal, to help you!

Yes last year, when the world was falling apart, in the middle of the chaos I found a new purpose. As many Americans had to reinvent and restart from the beginning from losing jobs to homeschooling, I found a way to help, to serve a purpose.

For the past 8 years, I been designing dessert stations, as a passion at first and later a full-time job.  I became very good at it, I had the chance to work with amazing event planners and been to famous places. I literally had a dream job. But with the unfortunate event that the “party” world got hit last year, I saw this dream turn into a nightmare… But I woke up from this nightmare and I found a calling, I found a way to make a difference and still do what I love.

I decided to teach my followers, everything I had learned to help them to see how I see. To be able to make analyses, to understand, and consequently to do it themselves if it’s what they desire.   So many people got financially affected, a lot of cut down on extra expenses, like the niche I was in. As parties got downsized, so did their budget for extra expenses which is totally understandable.  But I believe a party is a perfect excuse to build memories with family and friends, So my goal is to help you build beautiful memories together. So, Let’s get this party started.

In my opinion, to be a good host, there are a few steps that should be important to learn. It’s not just about the food, a good host should be able to make their guest feel comfortable and be accommodating.

But before we can get to details about how to be a good host, it’s important to determine what kind of party is it? kids or adults? men or women? Believe me, it makes a difference, a kid’s party is very different from an adult party.

So before we get into it, let’s just analyze a simple list of must-haves from any party so we can make decisions.

    1. what kind of party
    2. date
    3. theme
    4. how many people
    5. location
    6. invitation
    7. food
    8. entertainment

Soon we will be getting more into details and analyzing all the points, so keep in touch!
